A one day retreat offers a morning of activity and movement in the breathtaking red rocks and stunning landscapes of Sedona. Soaking in the energy of the region while participating in outdoor exercise, you'll be rewarded afterwards with tasty food and drink.
8 a.m. Retreat guests meet in west Sedona
8:30 - 10:30 a.m. Hike in the beautiful red rock formations of Sedona
11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Restorative Yoga in an outdoor setting
12:00 - 1:00 p.m. Relaxing lunch in a casual setting. Local, healthy options provided. Dietary restrictions accommodated.
1:00 - 2:00 p.m Visit to local brewery for craft beer samples (tasting included). Retreat concludes after the beer tasting and guests can enjoy the rest of the afternoon however they'd like!
Jen, a military wife and busy mom of 3, has been practicing for over 20 years. She specializes in a therapeutic style of yoga. She uses myofascial release, breathing techniques, yoga poses, and meditation to enhance overall health of the body and mind while also reducing stress and anxiety.
What to expect in our session: Yin yoga is a passive practice compared to more active (yang) styles of yoga. Yin yoga poses are not meant to be forced or aggressive, but still and introspective. The poses stress the connective tissues positively influencing the health of the body and triggering a relaxation response. Myofascial release (MFR) is a manipulation technique of the muscles and fascia which removes obstacles such as adhesions, trigger points, and chronic tension.
Erin is both a teacher and the owner of The Yoga Experience, a yoga studio that has been offering Flagstaff top quality yoga instruction for over 20 years. For Erin, yoga is a way of life; it is an avenue for self-discovery and the impetus to live a good, sustainable life. She encourages students to enhance their physical awareness, strength, and health while discovering their own creative expression and intent.
What to expect in our session: Participants will be encouraged to rest and heal through muscle relaxation and meditation, while finding ease in deep poses supported by the use of props. The intention is to relieve the effects of chronic stress, support a healthy immune system, and slow down the body and mind for better sleep.
